Fujitsu Services, a leader in IT services in Europe, has signed an agreement for the distribution of Quividi’s product suite. Quividi is a French company that develops software focused on the audience measurement in Digital Signage.
The definition of ROI (return on investment) of a Digital Signage project has always been a central and thorny element for all operators in the industry. Until now, in fact, for the measurement of the actual and potential audience of a network, operators have relied on indirect methods, starting - for example – from the number of estimated or measured visitors in a store environment or by tracking the visitors in a given place, or even from the number of tickets sales for a particular shopping center, department store, hypermarket. These methods, however, do not provide professional operators with an accurate measure of potential and, in particular, they do not allow for an ex-post field check.
As a result, today there is a lack of effective standards in the measurement of at least four indexes:
- How many people were in a position to see the message (opportunity to see) - the number of people who could potentially see a message because they passed by or stationed in an area where the message was certainly in their visual range.
- How many people have actually looked at the message - it is the effective audience of a message contribution, of a poster, of any static or dynamic device; it counts the number of people who have entered into a defined range, have turned their eyes and have seen the message.
- Who is the target - or the ability to classify the target according to gender and allowing for a top-level profiling.
- For how long has the target paid attention to the message (Attention time), an option that clarifies the level of involvement of the target and / or the length of the delivered paid content.
With these data from a network, a set basic indices would be obtained more accurately and quickly in order to evaluate the validity of an investment in advertising or, alternatively, just the return on objectives (since for many types of networks such as banks and mono-brand selling the advertising space is not a significant element of return on investment).
Fujitsu’s solutions and services based on Quividi’s technology can give accurate and comprehensive answers to these needs by providing data and opportunities for interaction to the network manager, be it a Retailer, a media centre or a dealer advertising company.
With its strong experience in the design and implementation of Digital Media Network, Fujitsu Services can now implement solutions both on its network and pre-existing ones. It can also provide the solution Software As A Service, an audience measurement deployment for a predefined period of time.
Olivier Duizabo, Quividi’s CEO, commented on the agreement: "We’re very pleased to collaborate with Fujitsu. Our real-time audience measurement solution is meeting a growing interest from large screen network operators and retailers in Italy. With Fujitsu’s reputation for managing large IT projects, we’re confident that our customers will make the most of our technology".
"The agreement with Quividi enables us to add a very important element in the qualifying offer for our services," said Denis Nalon, Country Marketing Manager at Fujitsu Services. "This is not a simple complement to our offer, but an essential innovative element for Retail Marketing and an accelerator for the growth of Digital Signage as medium and for the market, for which we expect significant developments in the next two years."
The Quividi audience measurement solution will be demonstrated on the Fujitsu booth at the Promotion Expo 2008 in Milan, March 12-14th.
